Senator Marco Rubio and Congressman Marsha Blackburn Join Latinos for Tennessee for Roundtable Discussion

From WKRN Nashville Channel 5:

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WKRN) – Republican Representative Marsha Blackburn brought in a former presidential candidate to help her campaign Friday in Tennessee’s highly competitive U.S. Senate race.

Sitting next to Blackburn at a gathering of Latinos for Tennessee in suburban Brentwood, Tennessee, Florida Senator Marco Rubio said, “We desperately need her in the U.S. Senate.”

From The Tennessean:

Rubio’s stop in Brentwood came as he attended a roundtable discussion hosted by Blackburn’s campaign, specifically aimed at discussing issues with people of Hispanic descent.

The eight attendees in the room with Blackburn and Rubio included Tommy Vallejos, a Republican candidate for the state House; Lillian Beretta, who owns a decorative paint company; restaurant owner Sam Sanchez; and several representatives from Latinos for Tennessee.

The discussion featured Rubio sharing his views about how family, faith and community in the country have been degrading in recent years and how Hispanic Americans have working-class values. Rubio and Blackburn also fielded a few questions and talked about ideas ranging from immigration to the business climate in the state.
