Latino Evangelical leader Reverend Sam Rodriguez has predicted that religious freedom will be the Civil Rights issue of the next few decades, and he notes that Latinos have a particular “sensitivity to religious liberty, because many of the people in our immigrant churches come from totalitarian nations, where regimes muzzled the voice of conscience.”

Freedom to practice one’s religion without persecution is one of the most important rights we enjoy in the United States!

In 2017 alone, Latinos for Tennessee has expressed support for Tennessee pastors working to protect sermons from subpoenas issued by state courts, as well as for the Christian leaders who expressed deeply held convictions in the Nashville Statement.

We will continue fighting to promote religious freedom; and in particular, to protect the unborn, the sanctity of marriage, and the expression of faith in schools, businesses, and other public venues.
