Latinos for Tennessee Salutes Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey
Nashville, Tennessee – For over two decades, Tennesseans have been able to rely on Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey as a tireless advocate for freedom, limited government and the free enterprise system. Latinos for Tennessee, a non-partisan organization dedicated to empowering the Latino community in Tennessee salutes Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey for his years of service to our state.
Latinos for Tennessee’s Executive Director, Raul Lopez, issued the following statement upon hearing of Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey’s decision to not seek reelection:
“Well before it was popular, Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey has been a friend and advocate for the Latino community here in Tennessee and beyond. As a state legislator and now as the Lieutenant Governor, Ron has been fighting to expand educational opportunities for all Tennessee families – a particularly important issue for Latino families in the state.” Lopez went on to add: “Regardless of where Ron decides to go next, I am confident that he will continue to be a close friend and supporter of Latinos for Tennessee’s mission of supporting faith, family, freedom and fiscal responsibility.”
In 2007, the Honorable Ron Ramsey made history when he became the first Republican speaker of the Senate since Reconstruction.
